Program Description

The Cybersecurity minor provides students with foundational knowledge and hands-on skills to protect digital systems and data. Designed for students in other majors, the minor introduces core concepts in programming, networking, and cybersecurity, along with practical techniques used to detect, analyze, and respond to cyber threats. Students gain experience in areas such as network security, system administration, intrusion detection, penetration testing, and digital forensics. The curriculum emphasizes applied learning, ethical responsibility, and real-world security scenarios to help students understand modern threat landscapes and defensive strategies.

Upon completion, students will be able to identify common vulnerabilities, support basic security operations, and collaborate with technical teams to enhance cybersecurity practices within their primary field of study.
