Program Description
The Geographic Information Systems (GIS) minor provides students with hands-on training in spatial analysis, digital mapping, and geospatial technologies used to understand complex environmental, social, and economic patterns. Students learn to collect, manage, analyze, and visualize spatial data using industry-standard GIS and remote sensing tools. The minor emphasizes applied problem-solving through real-world projects in areas such as environmental monitoring, urban planning, public health, and climate resilience. GIS skills developed through the program prepare students for careers in environmental consulting, planning, conservation, government, and geospatial data analysis.
