Program Description

The English minor is recommended for students in any university major who have an interest in literature and professional readiness. Courses in English emphasize communication, analytical, and cultural awareness skills by offering insight into the structure of the English language and by exploring form and genre as a means of understanding our ever changing world. While studying great literature, students who minor in English develop professional readiness in essential skills, such as writing, editing, communication, critical thinking, problem-solving, teamwork, and research. English minors may select 15 credit hours from any ENGL courses numbered 189 and above that fit their interests and goals.
